The Situation...
Cabin Consulting is a rapidly growing consulting firm, focused on delivering top-tier
services with a more competitive pricing model. To do this, they wanted to accelerate
the early phases of their engagements to quickly become a trusted advisor for their
clients, so they could shorten the overall engagement and reduce costs for their clients.
Assessment
Cabin was focused on hiring experienced consultants who could “hit the ground
running” with proven success in their industries and subject matter areas. However,
these consultants did not share a common approach to client engagement, and
specifically personality assessments. Cabin wanted to ensure a common approach and
language that all the consultants could share – within the firm, and across all their
clients.
Action
Cabin Consulting partnered with Peregrine Management Consulting to provide all their
Consultants with an Enneagram Assessment. This included individual assessments for
each of their consultants – with individual consultations and a group offsite session to
ensure a thorough understanding of their working styles, and how to interact with other
Enneagram types. PMC provided a number of tools and support materials to help
incorporate this approach across the firm – within the engagement team, and with their
clients.
Result
Not only did this assessment provide each Consultant with an insightful perspective on
their personal and professional style, it gave them to opportunity to do the same with
their clients – thus allowing for a deeper and more insightful relationship – resulting in
more successful engagements, and higher levels of loyalty and future opportunities.
As a result of this success, Cabin now includes a PMC Enneagram assessment for
each of their new consultants as part of their onboarding process, and offers it to their
clients during the initial phases of the engagement process.
