CASE STUDY:
HELPING ESTABLISH A NEWLY COMBINED DIGITAL TEAM

The Situation...

In 2025, Peregrine Management Consulting was engaged to help a newly appointed executive launch their digital services team.  The group was a combination of legacy leaders, along with several new hires brought in to strengthen the team with fresh talent who needed to be integrated into the combined organization.

Challenge

The new leader wanted to create a unified team with a common culture, with a highly competent and motivated team as well as a robust and efficient operating model.

Action

PMC helped design and supported a teambuilding offsite for the client at their home office location in Memphis TN. This began with a comprehensive Enneagram assessment, with 1:1 coaching, for each leader in advance of the offsite. During the offsite, PMC facilitated several exercises to help the team members learn more about themselves, and others, and how to maximize these new relationships. The day also included a collective team exercise to give each leader the opportunity to connect 1:1 with their peers and learn more about their personal and working styles.  PMC also supported the development of the team charter and culture statement, individual roles/responsibilities and objectives, and team management routines & protocols.

Result

As a result, the new team rapidly accelerated through the growth curve to “performing” and is now seen as a role model for the rest of the organization.

“Steve was critical in helping me build out my digital team at First Horizon.  It was quite a challenge to align the existing leadership group with my new external hires; his behind-the-scenes coaching as well as his direct leadership of our offsite in Memphis helped us develop quickly into one cohesive and coordinated unit.  In the process, all of my leaders were able to develop themselves as well –  I would highly recommend Steve to any executive leader who wants to have a strong, high-performing team – individually and collectively.”   Jonathan Hartsell, Head of Digital Banking, First Horizon Bank
