What Is The Enneagram?

What Is The Enneagram, Exactly?

  • The Enneagram is an archetypal model of 9 Types
used for personal development, from an open
systems perspective – it does not “box” people,
rather it measures where and how you resonate

  • Provides deeper insights into core motivations and
fears which drive attitudes, behaviors, needs, and
    interpersonal interactions

  • Explores deeper levels of personality in understanding the human nature – both conscious and subconscious

  • Delivers actionable tactics to improve individual and group dynamics – personally, and professionally

Why is the Enneagram more helpful than other models?

Key Points About The Enneagram

  • Motivations
  • Desires
  • Predictive
  • Model
There is no “best” type/number – they are all different, and all have their own desirable attributes (and unique challenges!)

While certain types may tend to gravitate to certain functions and roles, this should NOT be used as a career decisioning tool.

The Enneagram helps identify your core underlying motivations – people can (and, hopefully, do) develop over time to assume the best characteristics of the other Enneagram types throughout their careers.

While connections may be drawn to other tools (StrengthsFinder, DISC, Myers-Briggs, etc.) there is no direct correlation across the different models.

Again, no model is 100% perfect for 100% of people, 100% of the time. At the end of the day, the objective is to gather new and interesting insights about yourselves, and how you interact with others, to continuously develop your effectiveness – and improve your happiness!
